As many of you will know, Martin has been working as a producer for Madonna’s latest album. He recently spoke with the ‘Boston Globe’ about the recent leak and collaborating with the singer/actress.

Martin is just one of the names attached to Madonna’s upcoming album, with William Orbit and Benny Benassi being two of other well-known producers who are involved. During his recent solo tour through the U.S., the Boston Globe caught up with Martin in his first gig in New England’s largest city to talk a bit about the work he’s being doing for the album.

First, he commented on the leak of “Give Me All Your Love,” which will include Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. He told the Globe: “We had a terrible leak … and everyone is very upset about what happened.”

Martin said that he considers working with Madonna both a dream come true and a big surprise. He said: “I would have considered this as impossible. People ask who you would dream to work with. To me working with Madonna was not really something I could do. When I got the call, first I thought it was a joke. And then when I realized it wasn’t, I was really overwhelmed. The collaboration has been an enormous joy and an enormous surprise.”

Martin’s debut album Smash was released in Europe over the summer with massive success and is expected to be released in the United States at some point soon. About his debut DJ album, Solveig said: “The album ‘Smash’ is finished and ready to be released in the U.S. I’m also working on some different versions, some remixes. I’m touring the whole U.S. … which is overwhelming and great. There is a whole expectation (here) of electronic music and myself. The U.S. crowds appear to be a very, very good crowd. It’s great fun.”

While working with Madonna has been great for Martin, he admits that his greatest desire in terms of partnerships is to one day collaborate with Gwen Stefani. In a recent interview with Spinner, he commented: “I say this time and time again — and one day, she’s going to call me, I can tell — but Gwen Stefani, if you’re out there, dial my number and let me know. She’s the person I’ve always wanted to work with. Her attitude and her style are just incredible, and I think it was Perez Hilton who even said we’d sound amazing together. I know that with her, I could make the best record I’ve ever made.”

Martin Solveig has been announced as the first producer of Madonna’s currently untitled next album, following the recent tweet from Guy Oseary that she has already begun working on it. Madonna will surely be counting on electronic music DJ and producer Martin’s well reputed ear for commercially viable dance music to help make her new album a big success.

Madonna’s last Album, Gaga, was chastised by music critics earlier this year because they felt her smash ‘Born This Way’ sounded somewhat similar to Madonna’s 1989 hit ‘Express Yourself’. Gaga’s aesthetic is also often compared to Madonna’s.

It is inevitable that her next Album will be scrutinized for similarities to Gaga, so Madonna will know that she needs some fresh and original stuff, and doubtless she recruited Solveig, among others yet to be named, to help her produce it.

She will also have hired Solveig to revert back to a formula that has worked well for her on past projects. She was the primary songwriter on Music, Ray of Light and Confessions on a Dance Floor, and on all three she worked closely with the relatively little known European DJs/producers Mirwais Ahmadzai, William Orbit and Stuart Price respectively.
